RELAP5-MOD3 Plug-in

This version of the RELAP5 plug-in is designed to support RELAP5-MOD3.3. This plug-in is available to CAMP members under the CAMP SNAP User's Group (CAMP-SUG) agreement. CAMP members interested in using this conctact sug-support@islinc.com to be provided access to the plug-in.

Some of the features included in this version include:

  • Context sensitive ASCII views.
  • Job Stream Submission.
  • Model Notebook generation in OpenOffice and Microsoft Word.
  • Attribute level tracking of ownership and reviewer data.
  • Graphical Editing of Restart Cases.
  • Preservation of Variable References in Restart Cases.
  • ASCII comparison of components and models.

The RELAP5/MOD3.3 code has been developed for best-estimate transient simulation of light water reactor coolant systems during postulated accidents. The code models the coupled behavior of the reactor coolant system and the core for loss-of-coolant accidents and operational transients such as anticipated transient without scram, loss of offsite power, loss of feedwater, and loss of flow. A generic modeling approach is used that permits simulating a variety of thermal hydraulic systems. Control system and secondary system components are included to permit modeling of plant controls, turbines, condensers, and secondary feedwater systems.

Version 6.9.6 - Released 3/21/2025:

  • Scale Factor, Initial Velocity, and Final Velocity in the Displacement Table dialog can now properly reference shared reals.
  • The Managed Connections dialog within the Model Options component has been updated to use the updated Numeric Variable selection dialog when modifying the controlled connections.
  • The integer selection button of the Inlet and Outlet properties in Valves within Hydraulic Components is now always enabled, and the selection dialog has the ability to create new integers.
  • The real selection button of the Initial Value property under the Interactive Variables group within the Control Systems component is now always enabled, and the selection dialog has the ability to create new real values.
  • The Model Options Self Initialization Options Pressure value now allow referencing a SNAP Variable.
  • The Reactor Kinetics Reactor Time property has been updated to allow referencing a SNAP Variable.
  • The Control Option value in the Time Step Control property (found in Times Steps attribute group within Model Options component) now supports selecting and creating a numeric integer.
  • In the Geometry dialog (of Multi-Dim component within Hydraulic Components), when the Display Actual Positions checkbox is selected, the dialog will not allow selecting a numeric variable.
  • The 1D-Hydraulic Components Initial Conditions dialog was updated to use the integer numeric selection dialog that supports creating a new numeric variable for the Velocities or Mass flow type property.
  • An issue was resolved that could prevent opening the Hydro Component Geometry dialog after the model version was modified.
  • The integer selection button of the Initial Position property in Valves within Hydraulic Components is now always enabled, and the selection dialog has the ability to create new integers.
  • An issue was resolved closing the Model Editor after the data within the Radiation Enclosure Heat Structures property was modified.
  • The Multijunction component was updated to resolve an issue which would prevent creating new junction signal variables on a multijun through Python bindings.
  • The Python bindings for Pipe, Annulus, and Prizer were updated to allow setting the Area, Length, Volume (ALV) calculation mode for the entire component, or to set the ALV mode by cell.
